Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

GatherTip is a Bitcoin tipping application developed by STRI Labs Inc.. During the beta phase, the Service is experimental and provided for testing and feedback.

2. Information we collect

We collect limited data, and only as needed for beta testing, operating the Service, and improving Gather.

Information you provide

• Account and profile information you choose to submit (for example, username, display name, and other profile fields)
• Feedback, support messages, and other communications you send us
• Information related to Bitcoin tipping that you initiate through the Service (we do not custody, hold, or manage your Bitcoin; transactions occur on the Bitcoin Spark network)

Information collected automatically

• Basic technical and usage data needed to run and test the beta (for example, device or app activity related to features you use, errors, and performance)
• Limited interest and tipping characteristics associated with how you use the Service

We do not collect more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the beta.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and test Gather during the beta
• Improve features, reliability, and security
• Communicate with you about the Service, access, and feedback
• Use certain interest and tipping characteristics for marketing purposes
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms

Marketing use is limited. When we use interest or tipping characteristics for marketing, we do not disclose any more information than is already shown in a user profile.

4. We do not sell your data to third parties

STRI Labs Inc. does not sell your personal data to outside third parties. We do not resell user data. We also do not share your data with third parties for their own independent marketing or advertising, except as described in this Policy (profile-level information already visible in a user profile, or disclosures required by law).

5. When we may share information

We may share information only in these cases:

• With your knowledge through the Service. Profile information you make available on Gather may be visible to other users as part of tipping and social features.
• Service operation. Limited data may be processed by vendors who help us host, test, or operate the beta, solely to provide those services to us and under obligations to protect the data.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information about you if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, or legal process, including a valid warrant, court order, subpoena, or other compulsory request from a government or law enforcement authority.
• Corporate events. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or equivalent protections.
• Safety and Terms enforcement. We may share information as needed to protect users, the Service, or our rights, or to investigate violations of the Terms.

We do not custody your Bitcoin. On-chain transaction data that exists on the Bitcoin network is public by nature of the network and is not something we control.

6. Bitcoin, wallets, and financial data

• You are solely responsible for your Bitcoin transactions, fees, and taxes.
• STRI Labs Inc. does not hold or manage your Bitcoin.
• We recommend using only small amounts during beta and moving larger balances to a more secure wallet or cold storage if your balance exceeds $250.
• Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Verify profiles carefully before tipping.
• Any wallet or exchange you connect outside Gather is governed by that third party's own privacy policy, not this one.

7. Data retention

We retain information only as long as needed for the beta, to improve the Service, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. Because Gather is a short-term beta, we may delete or de-identify testing data when the beta ends or when it is no longer needed.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to a beta product to protect information. The Service is experimental and provided "as is." No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use of Gather is at your own risk. Do not store large amounts of Bitcoin in the app.

9. Children's privacy

Gather is for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (including California), you may have rights to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions
• Ask how we use and share information

To make a request, email intern@strilabs.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We do not sell personal information, including as that term is commonly used under California privacy law. We also do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond what is already visible in a user profile as described above.

11. International users

The Service is operated from the United States and governed by California law, as stated in the Terms. If you use Gather from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of Gather after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. The "Last Updated" date at the top will change when we revise this Policy.
